First Fragrance Candle Collection
Maria Grachvogel, luxury womenswear designer, announces today a new fragrance candle collection. This first foray into gifts heralds a number of new initiatives in the business planned to launch during 2010.
There are three intoxicating fragrances which Maria has developed with a bespoke fragrance house. They include Bois de Santal, Orris and Violette Africaine. The fragrances are designed to reflect the different moods of a woman. The Violette Africaine is flirtatious. The Orris is enigmatic and The Bois de Santal exudes mystery.
Orris is the root of the iris plant, which in ancient times, when mixed with cinnamon and other spices, was believed to be a love potion. The scent of the iris root differs from that of the flower. This unique smell only really reveals itself over time in the drying process. After drying, the root is ground, dissolved in water and then distilled. One ton of iris root produces two kilos of exclusive and exquisite essential oil.
Violette Africaine is completely luxuriant and is inspired by the rare beauty of African Violets. The violet scent, so distinctive, yet so fleeting is one of nature’s treasures.
Bois de Santal has its origins in the warm creaminess of sandalwood. The sexy woody fragrance is complex and would be a perfect gift for a man or a woman.
The fragrance candle collection will be sold in Maria’s flagship store on Sloane Street and on her newly designed transactional website launching in February 2010.

The packaging features three of Maria’s exclusive hand painted prints, which have become a signature of the brand and sold in beautiful white boxes hand tied with black branded Maria Grachvogel grosgrain ribbon and make the perfect Christmas gift.
Maria has been creating beautiful clothes for the last fifteen years originally from her studio in South Molton Street in London’s West End and opened her beautiful Sloane Street store in 2001.
