Custo Barcelona and Estrella Damm are pleased to invite you to a celebration in the name of the New York-Barcelona Transoceanic Sailing Record at the Custo Barcelona store on Spring Street.
The event will include the presence of designer Custo Dalmau, creator of the sail for the Estrella Damm regatta boat that participated in this race.
The NY-BCN Transoceanic Sailing Record is a pioneering project of oceanic navigation that aims to establish a record between NY and Barcelona that will remain as reference in the future; a race between two boats that will reinforce the ties between these two cities, one Atlantic and the other Mediterranean.

About the NY-BCN Transoceanic Sailing Record
NY-BCN Transoceanic Sailing Record is a sailing competition between New York and Barcelona which will be held in April 2010 with two identical IMOCA Open 60 yachts, the Estrella Damm and the W Hotels. The aim of the race is to set a sailing record between New York and Barcelona, as well as to strengthen bonds between both cities with socio-cultural, educational and sporting programs. It is an initiative of the Fundació Navegació Oceànica Barcelona (FNOB) with the support of the New York City Sports Commission, Real Club Náutico de Barcelona and the New York Yacht Club. The Fundació Navegació Oceànica Barcelona (FNOB) is the organizer of the Barcelona World Race and this new sailing event is part of the campaign that will culminate in the start of the second two-handed non-stop edition of the world race, on December 31st, 2010.
About the Fundació Navegació Oceànica Barcelona (FNOB)
The Fundació Navegació Oceánica de Barcelona (FNOB) was established in 2005 with the aim of enhancing awareness of the culture of the sea and to help raise ocean sailing to the appropriate level in a country of great maritime tradition. To achieve this objective, the FNOB, an entity whose partners are the Barcelona City Hall, the Chamber of Commerce, the Port and the Fira de Barcelona, created the Barcelona World Race, an around the world non-stop two crew sailing regatta, which had its first edition in 2007 and whose second edition will start on December 31st, 2010. It has set the FNOB Sailing Team, which manages projects of ocean racing from a business approach, and now organizes the establishment of the New York-Barcelona record for spring 2010.
